Agenţia Naţională pentru Cercetare Ştiinţifică — the National Agency for Scientific Research that was subsequent to a national project competition. Although the initial purpose of the conference was to focus on translation studies exclusively, the organizing committee were open to suggestions and accepted other topics as well.

This allowed to expand the conference scientific profile creating an opportunity for younger researchers to present, describe, disseminate and, thus, submit the results of their scientific quest or exploration to other more experienced specialists for discussion, suggestions and eventually recommendations for further reading. To observe the financing contract terms, the first plenary session of the conference had as a main goal to offer a description of the research activity performed by the members of the above mentioned research centre.
